Seafood Fest ’17 exceeds fundraising goals

As the annual Seafood Fest auction sailed through the Old Library Event Center on Friday, March 24th,  attendees from Olean and beyond outdid themselves this year in support of The Rehabilitation Foundation. Prizes were won and gourmet food was served including a bountiful buffet with various seafood dishes, beef tenderloin and chicken. It was a fun night out for all full of excitement and entertainment.

“It was an exceptionally successful sold-out year,” Elena Bombardier, Foundation director, said, adding, “We exceeded this year’s fundraising goal.”

Dan Carter, with Daniel A. Carter Auctions and Events in Allegany, who has been working the Seafood Fest Seafood fest photos 2017 091for several years, helped the live auction raise thousands more than previous years, thanks to exceptionally generous donors.Seafood fest photos 2017 013

The highest bid in the Live Auction went to the Kinley Corporation, for a 5lb. live Lobster at $2,200.00. Peterson Roofing was close behind with another top bid of $1,700.

In addition to the live auction, the event gave all attendeesSeafood fest photos 2017 102 a chance to leave with great prizes. Winners were drawn in two 50/50 drawings; A basket auction featuring packages including an Ellicottville Getaway, a Seneca Falls Wine Tour and Family Fun Package complete with Darien Lake Tickets; A Treasure Chest with packages Seafood fest photos 2017 094valued over $400; And the duck pond, where participants purchase a chance and everyone wins a prize – no luck needed!  Featured auction contributors were US Foods, PREMO Limousine, Ask Seafood fest photos 2017 051Design Jewelers, EllicottVillas, and Cutco, with many other local businesses contributing to the events success with an auction donation.
Entertainment was provided by well-known local musician, Ade Adu.
