The Linwood Center @ Intandem would like to honor the memory of one of our dear friends, Willie E. Milton Jr., who has unfortunately passed away. Willie was a kind-hearted, yet quiet man who always wore a smile and sought to make the most out of life. As he faced the challenges of overcoming alcoholism, Willie found himself in need of support. He came to the Linwood Center @ Intandem looking for a place to make new friends, share stories, and create lasting memories.

The Linwood Center @ Intandem, we were able to provide Willie with the support and services he needed to stay on track with his sobriety. The center became a place where Willie could thrive, surrounded by fun, laughter, and friendship, which helped him live a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle. We are grateful to have been a part of his journey and will always remember Willie for his strength, courage, and the joy he brought to those around him. Willie was a part of the Linwood program for more than 15 years!

Enhancing the lives we support

Willie had a deep love for fishing, watching movies, and working on 1,000+ piece puzzles with his friends at the Linwood Center @ Intandem. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to bond with others while staying active and engaged. Soon after Willie joined the center, his wife, Sheila, also became a part of the Linwood Center @ Intandem. To ensure they both had time to create new friendships and memories individually, they attended on opposite days. This thoughtful arrangement allowed each of them the space to grow while still sharing their lives together.

Sheila and Willie were married in 1986 and remained a devoted couple until Sheila’s passing in 2019. The Linwood Center @ Intandem played a special role in supporting their bond and enriching their lives, and we will always cherish the memories of their time spent with us.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Willie expressed his desire to remain in his home for as long as possible. With the support of his family and caregivers, the staff at the Linwood Center @ Intandem stepped in to help. They connected Willie and his family to the necessary resources and services, allowing him to stay in his own home for five years after Sheila’s passing. This was made possible by the unwavering support of his family and the dedicated staff who worked together to make sure Willie’s wishes were honored.

Unfortunately, when Willie’s health began to decline, he was moved to Salamanca Rehabilitation and Nursing. On November 29th, 2024, Willie E. Milton Jr. succumbed to his illness and passed away.

We will always remember and cherish the time we had supporting Willie and his family. It was an honor to know such a remarkable man, and we are grateful to have been able to help him live independently in his own home for as long as he did. He will forever be in our hearts, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.
